About the Journal
History of the IJBS
The International Journal of Bahamian Studies was launched in the autumn of 2010, representing a change in focus and name of its predecessor, the College of The Bahamas Research Journal.
The IJBS is published by the University of The Bahamas.
Aim & Focus
The journal publishes peer-reviewed articles focusing on The Bahamas, the Bahamian diaspora, and papers on the wider Caribbean which The Bahamas has much in common.
Open Access Policy
All articles published in the IJBS are fully open access. Authors are not charged for publishing in the IJBS.
Peer-review Policy
All original research articles are submitted to double-blind peer review. The final decision to publish a paper rests with the Editor. The Editor is also supported by an Editorial Committee on which he/she can seek guidance.
Acceptance Rate
The acceptance rate of submitted manuscripts is about 70%.
Copyright notice
The IJBS is an open access journal that does not charge article processing fees. As such, copyright is retained by the author. Authors may freely distribute their article provided reference to the publication of the article published in the International Journal of Bahamian Studies is retained. A Creative Commons BY-NC-ND License is applicable to the IJBS.
